Chapter VI — A colophon

About This Site

Who we are, what we publish, and what we don't.

What this site is

BPC-157 Medicine is an independent editorial project that publishes summaries of the peer-reviewed research literature on BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157, pentadecapeptide BPC 157). We are not a clinic. We do not employ clinicians and we do not provide medical advice. We do not manufacture, sell, or distribute any product. Our work is editorial commentary on publicly available science.

The name 'medicine' in our domain carries an editorial meaning: we approach this compound the way a careful medical journalist approaches a new research area — reading the literature end to end, tracking mechanism papers and clinical-trial registries, noting where the evidence is strong and where it is not, and publishing organized summaries that a general reader can follow without a biochemistry degree. The word 'medicine' does not signify that this site offers treatment, consultation, or prescription services. It does not.

This distinction matters. The research record for BPC-157 includes thirty years of preclinical animal studies, a single completed-but-unpublished Phase II clinical trial, and three published human pilot studies — a body of science that is both genuinely interesting and genuinely incomplete. Our job is to read it, organize it by tissue chapter, and present it with full citations. Our job is not to fill the gap between the animal literature and the human clinical record with advocacy, speculation, or commercial guidance.

Our editorial standards

Every quantitative claim on this site — every dose, every half-life, every p-value, every patient count — is sourced to a specific published study, with the citation number visible inline. We do not invent or extrapolate dose figures. We do not describe as 'established' what is only 'suggested' by the literature. We do not quote a 2019 rodent study as though it applies to humans.

We apply three editorial standards consistently across every page:

First: we distinguish preclinical evidence from human evidence, clearly and at every point where the distinction matters. The animal literature is large and structurally diverse; the human evidence record, as of 2025, consists of three open-label pilot studies. Both facts are stated plainly on every page that addresses them.

Second: we note the primary limitation of the BPC-157 literature — that a substantial proportion of it originates from a single research group at the University of Zagreb, which represents a concentration of academic source that independent replication has only partly addressed. This does not make the findings invalid; it means they should be weighted accordingly.

Third: we use the research record's own language when characterizing dose data. 'Studied at 10 μg/kg intraperitoneally in rats' is a factual description of a study design. 'An effective dose is 10 μg/kg' is a clinical claim this site never makes, because the research record does not support it for humans.

The regulatory position of BPC-157 is stated accurately on every relevant page: not approved for human use in any jurisdiction, classified as a Category 2 bulk drug substance by the FDA (September 2023), and prohibited under WADA Section S0 since 2022. These facts are not buried; they appear prominently in the dosage, FAQ, and index pages.

What this site is not

This site is not a source of medical advice, clinical guidance, or dosing recommendations. It does not provide consultations. It does not make referrals. It does not sell BPC-157 or any product derived from or associated with it. It has no commercial relationship with any vendor, manufacturer, laboratory, or compounding pharmacy.

No real person is employed here in a clinical capacity, because this is an editorial project, not a clinical institution. There are no doctors, pharmacists, or clinical team members on staff. If you have questions about your own health or about the use of any research compound, those questions belong with a licensed healthcare provider.

The footer on every page of this site carries a one-sentence description of what this site is: an independent editorial record of peer-reviewed research. That is the precise description, and it does not change.
